Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes
golden griddle goodness
This is one of my favorite recipes in my recipe box. I've been making pancakes this way since the girls were little. I love when a recipe proves that making something from scratch doesn't have to be hard.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspsoons baking powder
1 Tablespoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
3 Tablespoons salted butter, melted
1 egg
Instructions
Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add milk, melted butter, and egg.
Heat a griddle or pan over medium-high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form and the edges are dry. Flip and cook the other side.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
Ideas
There's a lot of ways to kick these up. Adding blueberries or mini chocolate chips to the batter are always a hit.
Then, there's our Christmas morning tradition of snowman and reindeer pancakes.
